sharing good news for 150 years

"Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life." Philippians 2:15-16

We are looking back at 2017, the year we turned 150 years old! We were delighted to celebrate this major anniversary and remember the origins of Scripture Union. Right from the start SU has been all about sharing the good news with children and young people and promoting Bible reading to people of all ages. And it still is.

While we enjoyed the celebrations of the past, we have of course been living in the present and looking to the future too. Please take time to explore what's been happening at SU in Scotland during 2017.

The statistics in this report relate to the year from September 2016 to August 2017. The financial report covers the year from April 2016 to March 2017.

“I would like to take this opportunity to commend you for the service you provide to Scotland’s communities. I have seen first-hand the unique approach taken by the Scripture Union Ministry to provide enhanced opportunities for Scotland’s young people to learn. Your approach demonstrates there are many collaborative ways of working to impact our communities.

Specifically in Scotland, the Ministry’s work is entirely in keeping with the Scottish Government’s ethos to create to create strong, resilient and supportive communities, ensuring there is ‘One Scotland’ where people live in peace and everyone has the opportunity to flourish.”
